Overview
Parflow TwinFerrule™ Tube Fittings are engineered to provide secure, leak-tight, and vibration-resistant tube connections for demanding instrumentation and process control applications. Built around the proven double ferrule compression principle, these fittings combine precision manufacturing with robust mechanical performance to ensure dependable operation across a wide range of industrial environments.
From process plants and refineries to analytical systems and hydraulic installations, Parflow TwinFerrule™ Tube Fittings are designed to deliver consistent sealing integrity where reliability is non-negotiable. In modern process industries, instrumentation systems carry far more than fluids. They carry critical process information. Every pressure impulse line, analytical sampling system, hydraulic control circuit, and pneumatic instrument depends on the integrity of its tube connections.
Even the smallest leak can compromise measurement accuracy, reduce system efficiency, create safety risks, or lead to costly downtime. Parflow TwinFerrule™ Tube Fittings are designed to eliminate these risks by creating mechanically strong, precision-sealed connections that remain reliable throughout the operating life of the system.

Working principle
During installation the tube is inserted to the internal shoulder and the nut is tightened to the recommended make-up. The two ferrules advance in a controlled manner: the front ferrule compresses between body and tube OD to form the primary metal-to-metal seal, while the back ferrule swages onto the tube surface to provide mechanical holding power against pull-out, vibration, thermal expansion, and cyclic loading.
Because sealing and gripping are separated, the connection stays stable where single-element designs fatigue, under fluctuating pressure, continuous vibration, and repeated thermal cycling, and remains gaugeable and remakeable through maintenance cycles.

At a glance
TwinFerrule is one of only three Parflow lines with a published 60,000 psi ceiling, the other two are High Pressure Tube Fittings and High Pressure Valves. Everything else in the range tops out at 10,000 psi or below.
The fitting does not set the working pressure, the tube does. Rated pressure depends on tube OD, wall thickness and material, and 60,000 psi applies to selected high-pressure series only. A 2" OD SS316 fitting from the same line works at a small fraction of that. Specify the tube first, then confirm the series against it.
Key features
- Independent sealing and tube gripping for connection integrity
- Metal-to-metal sealing: no welding, brazing, or thread sealants
- Excellent resistance to vibration, pulsation, and mechanical shock
- Stable under thermal cycling and fluctuating process conditions
- Precision-machined components for repeatable make-up and remakes
- Compact design for space-limited installations
- Broad compatibility with industry-standard instrumentation tubing
Technical advantages
The twin ferrule mechanism has become the preferred connection technology for critical instrumentation because it addresses two fundamental engineering requirements simultaneously: leak-tight sealing and secure tube retention. Conventional threaded joints often rely on sealants or thread engagement to prevent leakage, while welded joints introduce permanent connections that increase installation complexity and maintenance time.
The Parflow TwinFerrule™ system offers an alternative that combines installation simplicity with high mechanical integrity. The independent action of the two ferrules reduces stress on the tubing while maintaining sealing performance under demanding operating conditions. This design improves connection reliability, minimizes maintenance requirements, and supports longer service intervals in critical process applications.
For engineering contractors, OEMs, and plant maintenance teams, this translates into faster installation, simplified maintenance, and greater confidence in long-term system performance.

By combining precision manufacturing, proven compression technology, and practical installation advantages, they provide engineers with a dependable solution for high-integrity tubing systems.
Their compatibility with industry-standard instrumentation practices also makes them well suited for new installations, plant expansions, maintenance projects, and system upgrades where consistent performance and ease of integration are essential. Whether installed in process instrumentation, hydraulic systems, analytical equipment, or critical fluid handling applications, Parflow TwinFerrule™ Tube Fittings are engineered to deliver secure, leak-tight connections that help ensure the safe and efficient operation of modern industrial facilities.

FAQ
What is a twin-ferrule tube fitting?
A compression fitting with two ferrules: the front ferrule forms the primary metal-to-metal seal against the fitting body, and the back ferrule grips the tube. Separating the two functions gives leak-tight sealing plus strong mechanical retention under vibration and thermal cycling.
How is it different from a single-ferrule fitting?
A single-ferrule design uses one ferrule for both sealing and gripping. The twin-ferrule system performs the functions independently, which improves stability in severe vibration, high cyclic loading, and high-pressure service.
Can TwinFerrule™ fittings be re-made after disassembly?
Yes. Correctly installed fittings support repeated maintenance and controlled remakes using standard assembly procedures, without consumable seals.
Do they need thread sealant or welding?
No. Sealing is achieved by controlled ferrule deformation, a precision metal-to-metal interface. No welding, brazing, flaring, elastomers, or thread compounds at the tube connection.
