Parflow Syphons & Snubbers

Working principle

Syphon: installed between process and instrument in steam service, its coiled or looped form retains condensate as a water seal. Steam condenses in the coil; the trapped condensate absorbs heat, so the instrument sees pressure without the temperature.

Snubber: mounted directly ahead of the instrument, a precision restriction or porous element limits how fast pressure fluctuations reach the sensing element. Pulsations from pumps, compressors, and reciprocating equipment are damped while average pressure transmits accurately.

Syphon vs snubber, which do I need?
