Single-body DBB assemblies, Mumbai High offshore platform

The installation

Instrument take-offs on a Mumbai High platform were built from conventional multi-valve hook-ups, each a stack of isolation and bleed valves with several threaded and compression joints. Every joint is a potential leak path, and offshore weight and deck space are always at a premium.

What changed

The take-offs were standardised on Parflow single-body DBB-M25 double block & bleed valves, two positive isolations and a vent path in one fire-safe, anti-static body. Consolidating the hook-up into a single assembly removed roughly 60% of the potential leak paths and cut installed weight per take-off.

Result

After commissioning, the platform recorded no instrument-isolation leaks on the converted take-offs, with faster valve changeouts during turnaround thanks to the compact single-body envelope.
